“Døing Nøthing” by Løuis Mørgan
A Debut That Refuses to Rush — And That’s the Point
—
Artist, poet, performer
Løuis Mørgan releases his first EP “DØING NØTHING”
under Whales Records, on June 13, 2025.
—
Blending alternative jazz, spoken word, and experimental electronics, the five-track project reads like a whispered diary, a sonic space for resistance, reflection, and gentle rebellion. At once fragile and fiercely intentional, DØING NØTHING invites listeners into a space where slowness is power, where creativity isn’t about production but presence.
“Døing Nøthing” by Løuis Mørgan
A Philosophy Rooted in Fluxus, Family, and Fragility
Løuis is the grandson of Robert Filliou, a major figure in the Fluxus movement,
whose radical idea that art and life are inseparable, permeates every corner of this project.
DØING NØTHING is more than music; it’s a manifesto for softness, an invitation to embrace stillness and imperfection.
“Resilience comes from simplicity.
Art is a way of healing through sound,
nature, and quiet rebellion.”_Louis
Raised between North London and rural France,
surrounded by a constellation of creative influences :
a musical mother, a poet-sister, a free-thinking grandmother.
His music captures the poetry of the everyday : scribbled notes at night,
rhythms born on walks with his child, textures recorded raw and unpolished.
Not to impress, but to be real.
Each track on DØING NØTHING
Like a window into a different corner
of Løuis Mørgan’s inner landscape .
The EP opens with “Døing Nøthing”
a whispered beat-poem built around a text by his grandfather,
Fluxus artist Robert Filliou. It’s a quiet provocation,
where stillness becomes resistance, and the Principle of Equivalence
— well made, badly made, not made — becomes musical form.
On “Love Is Key”
Mørgan shifts into warm, analog territory and a mantra inherited
from childhood, reminding us that gentleness can be revolutionary.
“Rain Is Home”
unfolds like a cinematic confession,
composed between London and Bordeaux,
cocooning the listener in slow, healing rain.
The most nostalgic piece,
“There Is Nothing Else”
Threads family memory into Zen philosophy,
set to delicate drums and sun-drenched melodies.
The EP closes with “I’m A Dad”
Perhaps its most vulnerable track, built from one-takes,
baby sounds, and the quiet collapse of ego that parenting demands.
”Together, these five pieces
form a personal philosophy
art rooted in presence, softness,
and the beauty of doing less.”_Louis
“DOING NOTHING”_ Art
Beyond Music
Løuis creates slogan “SLOW DOWN”, concept postcards, spoken vignettes,
and even collaborated with artist-cabinetmaker David Bross
to design a manifesto-chair : part sculpture, part symbol.
Everything he does reflects a life-art continuum,
inspired by Fluxus principles.
“I’m half young, half old. Half working, half doing nothing.
I try to live in between — that’s where the truth is.”
