Francesca Guccione - Shodō - Six Missing Rework

Getting to work with such beautifully performed and delicate strings was a true joy for me, so I was instantly inspired when Francesca asked me if I had interest in joining her with a rework. I wanted to retain portions of the original but put my own take on it, so I manipulated the piano using spatial audio plugins. For the strings, I sent them through multiple effects, largely, my pedalboard of guitar effects and performed the pedals in real time until I got a cloudlike pad and drone going. And then I sent them through my eurorack effects which pulled them apart and made them like saltwater taffy. Once the vibe had been created I set to work in arranging and shuffling pieces around. The piece that pulled it all together and the most "un-effected" layer is the vintage Minimoog. I wanted that to be the anchor in the center of the sonic kaleidoscope. Best listened in headphones and in a relaxed state. Inner journeying may occur, this is intentional.

Six Missing is the ambient, meditative, and cinematic endeavor of award-winning sound designer, mixer and composer, TJ Dumser. His work appears in numerous film + tv projects and is often the backdrop to explorers looking inwardly.
As an avid meditator and inner journeyer, Dumser centers himself in the present moment to create deeply textured, lush, and emotional sonic landscapes that allow the listener to drift away or close their eyes and exist within the theater of the mind.
These cinematic soundscapes lend themselves to film, tv, and activities in which words fail to capture meaning.
