Francesca Guccione - Shodō - Jameson Nathan Jones Rework

When Francesca sent me the piece I was really struck by how moving the string parts were.I knew I wanted to keep that as a constant focal point of the rework, but decided to have a bit of fun manipulating the main melodic idea through my modular system. The result is something that feels more robotic and artificial in the beginning. This leads us into what seems to be a more straight-forward electronic reinterpretation of the track.I have been exploring the inclusion of my primary instrument, the organ, in more of my productions lately, and I really liked the idea of having this massive pipe organ sort of swallow the mix whole and take the listener in an unexpected direction. The organ is slowly stripped away at the end leaving only that original melody and counter melody in the strings.

Jameson Nathan Jones is a classically trained pianist and composer from Mississippi whose interest in modern electronics and sound design has led to a unique musical language.Blending elements of modern classical and ambient music with the grittier analog textures often associated with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, Jameson has created a sound that ranges from intimate and minimal to cinematic and raw.
